Vardst was genetically bred like all others of his species and came from the chamber in 2439, Seeing how Jem'Hadar mature and grow faster than humans Vardst was allowed entry into Starfleet Academy at the age of 1 with the encouragement of Odo. Even though the Jem'Hadar were no longer bred to be killers Vardst had a hard time fitting in at the Academy. He finally found his niche at the academy the middle of his sophmore year and between that and no longer being a freshman the majority of the picking stopped.
He graduated from the academy four years later and after his mandatory six month leave he was assigned to Deep Space Nine in the security department for a year until the Enterprise could be completed. When the Enterprise was launched he was promoted and signed on at DS9 during the Romulan admission to the Federation. He was promoted again in 2447 for a job well done on the mission to retrieve Victor's AWOL father.
