Laren Ro met Tom Riker at a Marquis planning session; Laren had left star fleet to join the Marquis in 2370 after an undercover mission for star fleet showed her the plight of her people in the Demilitarized Zone. Tom Riker was a desperate to find a way to separate himself from his counterpart William T. Riker and after hearing about the Marquis he decided that was as good a way as any to distinguish himself from the other Riker so in early 2371 he left Starfleet and joined the Marquis. He brought with him a bold plan, to impersonate his counterpart and steal the USS Defiant for the Marquis. It was during the planning stages of this that he had met Laren Ro and the electricity between them led to a few weeks of passion before Tom left on his mission and was subsequently captured and sent to a cardassian prison where he was killed while coming to the aid of another.
Laren had had a brief affair with Will Riker in 2368 when an alien wiped the long term memories of the Enterprise-D’s crew and the latent attraction between Will and her bubbled to the surface. After they had regained their memories it had become an issue of embarrassment between them and it was not spoken of again until she joined the Marquis and told some of those whom she became close with about the incident. It was for this very reason she had gotten involved with Tom Riker and when she found out later that she had become pregnant by Tom Riker she left the Marquis and returned to Bajor in 2372, where her son Feri was born. Laren fought to free Bajor from the Dominion until it was freed in 2374 and she received a commission in the Bajoran Militia with the rank of lieutenant and became the Chief of security for Deep Space Nine after Odo left for the Changeling Home world. When Bajor became a federation member in 2375 she rejoined Starfleet She kept her son’s paternity a secret and only told him when he came of age, not wanting his paternity to influence his life choices.
In 2390 Feri, harboring a dislike for the federation because of the role they had played in the capturing of the Marquis, who were only defending their homes, he left and settled on New Bajor. New Bajor was still just a fledgling colony due to the eradication of the original colony by the Dominion, who now under Odo’s leadership have helped to rebuild, and sworn to protect the citizens of, the colony. It was there in 2393 that he met Amiee and they were married in 2395. Tyron was a surprise when he came along in 2419, considering they had been told they could not have children. ‘His father tended the farm while his mother was on the governing council until his father’s death in 2430 from an accident with some farm machinery. His mother, Amiee took over the farm and raised him until he decided he wanted to join Starfleet and was accepted into the academy in 2442.
At the start of his junior year at the Academy in 2444 Tyron was assigned to Deep Space for his field study. With the Cardassian War ongoing his six month assignment turned into the last two years of his stay at the Academy. Despite being in the science department he spent some time on the front lines and logged numerous hours on the Defiant in battle.
In 2446 he was reassigned to the USS Enterprise-G and on his first mission was seriously injured. His injuries recquired surgery and even that was not able to prevent some brain damage. Tyron is able to go about his day to day duties but he does not move at the pace he once did and if still for too long could get very stiff. He is also recquired to take medication on a daily basis.
Despite his injuries the newly promoted Captain Syton saw fit to promote Tyron directly to full Lieutenant and reassign him to the engineering department as the newly created Cloak Specialist a posting that would limit the need for Tyron to go on away missions. He has served with his cousin Tom Riker, III for the past year.
