Personal History
Geordi was born blind to a command officer and a exozoologist in 2335. His parents were always on the move during his childhood. At one point he was with his father in the Modean system studying invertebrates and was on an outpost with his mother near the Romulan neutral zone another time.
Before his stint on the Enterprise-D Geordi was Captain Picard's pilot on an inspection tour. Picard requested that Geordi be on his next command after Geordi stayed up all night to correct a problem the captain mentioned in an off hand remark.
