Personal History
After being born on the changeling homeworld Eld spent the first 100 years learning the nuances and intricacies of Shape Shifting. Learning how to becomean object and therefore to know an object was a joyful experience. After successfully mastering shape shifting Eld took it's place in The Dominion as part of 'The Great Link'. Eld was distrustful of 'solids' as were the rest of the changelings and was more than eager to help bring order to the gamma quadrant when Odo arrived unexpectedly from the Alpha Quadrant. Eld and the others met Odo and learned about the the various species in the Alpha Quadrant that were calling to be guided to a more ordered existence.
Using the stable interspacial conduit Eld was sent to the Alpha Quadrant where he successfully infiltrated Starfleet Head Quarters, Earth and carried out various covert missions.
After the Federation-Dominion War had ended Odo returned to the Changeling Homeworld where he cured 'The Great Link' of a deadly disease that had infected it. Eld returned to 'The Great Link' in 2375 where shared his experiences of his Time in the Alpha Quadrant and gained insight into The Federation from the experiences brought back by Odo. When Odo returned to Earth and married a Bajoran in 2411 and then the first Jem-Hadar enrolls in StarFleet Academy in 2440 Eld felt perhaps even more understanding of StarFleet and solids could be gained from personal experience and so enrolled in Starfleet Academy in 2441.
